STSJGA 2014 Team

The STSJGA 2014 Team at the ECGA Opening Ceremony

It’s that time of the year again. That’s right, time to make a run at being a member of the 2015 St. Thomas ECGA team. Last year’s competition was fierce, spirited and challenging to all and we are expecting much of the same for this year. Unfortunately, the number of competitors has been reduced by one in the Men’s and Woman’s flight, making for an even more spirited competition. The rules of engagement will be the same and team members will be selected based on the following point system for competition in 6 separate events:

1st-100 •  2nd-65 •  3rd-55 • 4th-40 • 5th-35 • 6th-30 • 7th-25 • 8th-20 •  9th-15 • 10th-10 • 11th -5

This year’s events will include: 4 Saturday afternoon qualifiers; March 21, April 11, May 9 and June 20 as well as the St. Thomas Open. This is a two day event and each day will be a separate qualifier. A ball drop will be conducted for the Saturday qualifiers and competitors will be grouped based on handicap…1-10; 11-20; and 21 or greater. We are hopeful that this will create a more efficient and enjoyable competition. To obtain points, players must complete the round!

To qualify for the team, you must be a paid member of the STSJGA. So if you haven’t done so please see any Board member or leave your payment in the Mahogany Run Pro Shop. This year’s tournament is scheduled to be held October 2-4 on St Martin.
